Day 4 - The Price is right

Salida, CO to Price, UT  361 Miles
September 4, 2012

Pulled out of Salida about 8:00 am on US50, heading west.  My plans are to visit my good friends Bobby J. and Zelda.  They have a home in Provo, UT and a second, retirement home down in Hurricane.  Due to his mother's having health problems, they have spent the past two months in Provo and that was where I was heading.

My route left me on US50 until Grand Junction where I had to get on the slab (I-70) until joining US6 just outside of Green River.

Love those Colorado mountains.

Obviously haven't stopped for many pictures, though they are everywhere you look up here.  I'm trying to make some time with the opportunity, if I don't tire too much, to make it to Bob and Zelda's today.

Reaching Price I call Bobby J and find they had returned down to Hurrican with plans to come back to Provo to meet me.  I had estimated I wouldn't get there until Wednesday to have plenty of wiggle room to explore if the need struck.   But, since they were there and we thought it'd be more fun playing down there we decided to change the end-point to Hurricane instead of Provo.  The route from Price to Hurricane is 270 miles, more than I'm willing to tackle this late in the day so I decide to stay in Price for the evening and head down to Hurricane in the morning.  Found a room, took one of those much loved "road showers," got a little dinner and crashed.
